Incorporating essential oils into your daily routine is a great way to naturally alleviate any tension and to promote inner calm. Below, I have provided a list of my current favorite essential oils for stress relief and how you can use them.

When purchasing essential oils: make sure the company is a trustworthy source and sells oils that are 100% pure, without any additives or synthetics.

Bergamot

This essential oil is invigorating and can help to lessen your stress and promote relaxation.
To Use: Put 6-10 drops into the hot water during a shower to create your very own sauna: the released oil combined with the steam will help open your pores and release toxins from your skin.

Roman Chamomile

Inhaling roman chamomile oil is known to reduce anxiety and promotes better sleep.
To Use: Put this oil in a diffuser or incorporate into a massage oil to enhance the aromatherapy process.

Ylang- Ylang

Ylang – Ylang has a unique yet wonderful aroma that is guaranteed to boost your mood and soothe the soul.
To Use: Dab some on your wrists and behind your ears as a perfume or drop some in your nightly face moisturizer to rejuvenate the skin.

Peppermint

Peppermint oil is best known for the cooling sensation it releases when used, and works well for muscle soreness.
To Use: Great for a body mist in the summertime or as a way to cure indigestion (just put 1-2 drops in warm water!).

Lavender

This multi-purpose aromatherapy oil is one of the most popular to use for relaxation because it directly impacts the brain’s limbic system, which controls negative emotions.
To Use: You can carry this oil around with you in roll-on form, so that it can be applied directly to your skin when you are feeling especially stressed during the day.

Cedarwood

Cedarwood has a really woodsy smell that helps you feel at ease.
To Use: This is the ideal oil to use in a DIY pillow spray, its renowned calming properties can put users right to sleep.
