About a year ago, I decided to make the transition to only buying cruelty-free. One of the first places I started was with my skincare products. It definitely takes a little more research but here’s the deal: It’s 2019, and finding non-cruel alternatives is now easier than ever. In other words, it is time to get with the program.

If you are also looking to go cruelty-free, I am giving you a head-start by providing a list of links to my favorite cruelty-free skincare essentials. My skin is typically more sensitive / oily so the products I use are geared to target those issues. These are all brands that I have used and approve the quality of.

I can now confidently say that my skincare routine has the moral high-ground– can you??

Cleanser: SkinMedica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

A best friend of mine introduced me to this face wash and I have fallen in love! This cleanser contains naturally derived ingredients like alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA)and beta-hydroxy acid (BHA). Combined with tiny jojoba spheres, your skin will be exfoliated without any irritation. I bought this to improve the texture and tone of my skin– I can happily say that this product is definitely achieving those results!

Eye Cream: Calily Life Eye Cream

The hyaluronic acid in this cream is known for reducing fine lines and puffiness under your eyes. It is perfect for sensitive skin and oil-free, which helps make-up stay on longer. The antioxidants and extracts in the formula will heal, strengthen, and deeply hydrate your skin. I religiously put this on every morning and it has worked wonders on my under-eye bags.

Daily Moisturizer: Simple Kind to Skin Protecting Light Moisturizer SPF 15

I can’t leave the house without putting this on! Full of skin-loving ingredients and added vitamins, this moisturizer is so powerful but has a light, non-greasy feel. It’s perfect for all types of skin, especially those who lean towards the sensitive side. Not to mention it has SPF in it– which is the MOST important factor that any daytime facial lotion should have.

Facial Oil: Jojoba Oil by Leven Rose

Using a jade roller, I allow this oil to absorb into my skin before applying any type of facial moisturizer. Jojoba oil is great for oily skin because it seamlessly mixes with our own sebum, dissolving excess oils, and balancing sebum production. In other words, it tricks our skin into thinking the oil levels are balanced so that it doesn’t overproduce oils!

Body Moisturizer: EO Botanical Body Oil

I am obsessed with how luxurious this body oil makes me feel! The blend of cold-pressed sweet almond and sunflower oils penetrate deeply, helping to support soft and radiant skin. The french lavender is so soothing and restores radiance to any skin type. It is also perfect for body massage or to help deepen the look of a new tan.

SkinCorrecting Mask: Aztec Indian Healing Clay & Deep Pore Cleansing Mask

The clay mask that worked some serious magic on my skin! With over 17,000 reviews on Amazon and a high approval rating, this is a must-have in your skincare routine. Combined with apple cider vinegar, the calcium bentonite clay draws out all of the impurities deep in your pores, improving overall clarity and texture. It is affordable, all-natural, and super effective when used 2-3 times a week.

Facial Toner: Thayer’s Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Toner

This product is great for any skin type, especially those (me) with sensitive skin. The aloe vera, rose water, and witch hazel in this formula work together to tighten pores and give your face a dewy glow. It is completely free of alcohol which is rare in most facial toners, but is still effective in reducing inflammation and balancing skin pH.

Make-Up Remover: Organys Cleansing Oil & Make-Up Remover

Switching to a cleansing oil instead of using make-up wipes was the most effective and eco-friendly skincare decision I have made in the last year. This product is olive-oil based, which naturally dissolves makeup, dirt, excess oils, and even sunscreen. It even acts as an initial cleansing for your face by deeply penetrating inside the pores to clean buildup.

Night Cream: Burt’s Bees Night Cream for Sensitive Skin

This night cream is 98.9% natural and fragrance free which is perfect for calming redness or inflammation. I put this on every night before bed and wake up the next morning with my face glowing and soft! The key ingredients: cotton extract and aloe are combined to rejuvenate skin, keeping a youthful appearance all day long.

Self-Tanner: St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Moisturizer

I love to maintain a natural, sun-kissed glow all year round. This body lotion is perfect for daily use because it is ultra-hydrating, easy to apply, and dries quickly. I suggest using it every 2-3 days to build up to a healthy look of bronzed skin. This moisturizer is formulated without parabens, sulfates, or phthalates so you know you are making the healthy choice for your skin with this self-tanner!
